Wind Chimes of Olympos® by Woodstock Chimes
The original Woodstock Chime!
This wind chime plays the ancient Greek pentatonic scale created by Olympos, a Phrygian flutist and lyre player of the 7th century B.C. Olympos is credited with introducing the flute into Greece from Phrygia, adding a new instrumental sound to the country. He was also known for being inventive with rhythm, which some argue makes him the original King of Rhythm and Blues. Plutarch, the Greek historian and biographer, recognized Olympos as the father of Greek music due to his contributions. Even after almost three thousand years, Olympos’s bluesy scale, tuned in the pure “just intonation” system, is still heard today in the Japanese koto and on a Woodstock Chime.
